“My name is of no importance...”

I'm 24 and currently living in Eastbourne, East Sussex.
I'm a graduate of Keele University in Staffordshire.

This journal is still active - just recently I've been making a lot of friends only posts

I'm one of those people who find it hard to write personal profiles and interests sections because they either end up overly long or way to complicated.
I studied history and politics at University, mostly taking modules everyone else would avoid like their life depended on it. I'm due to start a Masters degree in Medieval History in October.

Away from studying I'm involved in a wide variety of different things.
I'm a keen fencer, and represented my University at both regional (team) and national (individual) level. My main weapon of choice is sabre, although I can also fence foil and epee. I'm also a junior instructor.
I used to play a variety of unusual sports until I injured my knees as a teenager - I've taken some of them up again recently.

I play the guitar, the piano and the drums, and have been in a number of different bands over the years although I'm not involved in anything at the moment. I do miss it, and hope to start something new soon.
My taste in music is really varied although there are a number of different themes – Gothic electronica in the style of The Birthday Massacre, old school metal of the likes of Iron Maiden, and folk music – particularly Clannad, Iona, Kate Rusby, June Tabor, Sarah McLaughlin.

I paint and draw to a certain degree. Artists I love include Victoria Frances, Luis Royo, Patrick Woodroffe, and David Delamere. I did a photography course in college, and had always enjoyed it, although I really miss working in a dark room. I also like Anime and Manga artwork.

I design tattoos by request - and hopefully will be able to post some examples of my work here soon.

I write a lot, both for my academic work and for pleasure. I tend to write Gothic style fiction and detective stories of different styles. My favourite authors are Kathy Reichs, Ian Rankin, Catherine Aird, James McGee, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.

I'm a Christian. However - my views are a little unique because of my background and what I study. Because of this my religious and spiritual experiences is kept in a separate request only filter within this journal. To be added to this simply message me and ask.
